Redefining Proactive Healthcare with AI
A leading cardiologist envisioned a powerful new way to support his patients: a marketplace, akin to "Uber Eats for healthcare," that would seamlessly connect them with nutritionists, physiotherapists, and other providers. While the vision was compelling, launching into the highly competitive app marketplace carried significant risks and costs. Väl365 needed a partner to validate the concept and define a clear path to success.

Challenge.
The Challenge: Navigating a "Red Ocean"
The initial marketplace idea, while intuitive, was entering a "red ocean"—a highly saturated market with intense competition. There was a high risk of poor product adoption and a potential for tens of thousands of dollars in wasted development costs if the hypothesis wasn't rigorously tested. The challenge was to find a unique, defensible position in the market that would provide genuine value to both patients and providers.

Solution
Our Solution: Strategy First, Technology Second
We implemented a comprehensive product-market fit validation process to de-risk the project and uncover the true opportunity.
Immersive User Research: We conducted 11 hours of in-depth interviews with a wide range of stakeholders, including frail patients, younger patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers. This research was critical to understanding the real-world needs and frustrations of all user groups.
Hypothesis Validation: Our research confirmed that a generic marketplace was a high-risk venture. Instead, we identified a much more significant opportunity: a high-value matchmaking service that uses data to create optimal patient-provider pairings.
A Strategic Pivot to AI: We proposed a new product strategy centered on advanced analytics and AI. As a crucial first step, we co-designed a frailty assessment tool, combining the best practices of healthcare and user experience to create a strong clinical foundation for the platform.
End-to-End Design: Following the strategic pivot, we delivered a complete design package, including a new product roadmap, brand identity, and a full suite of UX/UI designs, from user flows and wireframes to polished mockups.

The Result: A Smarter, Safer Path to Market
By prioritizing strategy and research, we saved Väl365 tens of thousands of dollars in potential development costs on a high-risk idea. More importantly, we provided them with a validated, innovative, and defensible product direction. Instead of just another marketplace, Väl365 is now building an intelligent platform that uses a clinical assessment to proactively match patients with the precise care they need, setting a new standard for preventative health.
