From the Big Screen to Every Screen: Creating a Fluid User Experience for Real Estate Tech
Smartpixel provides a cutting-edge 3D simulated environment that empowers real estate sales teams to deliver immersive presentations on large, 100-inch touch screens. In 2021, they came to us with a critical challenge: their powerful tool was confined to the big screen. They needed to adapt this unique experience to work seamlessly across desktops, tablets, and mobile devices, all while modernizing the user interface.

The Challenge: Scaling a Vision Without Compromise
Smartpixel faced a multi-faceted design challenge:
Multi-Platform Adaptation: How could they translate a rich, large-format user experience to the constraints of smaller screens without losing functionality or intuitive control?
Ergonomics in Action: The primary "videowall" experience was cumbersome for sales agents, who were constantly moving around a room during presentations. The interface needed to be re-engineered for this dynamic, real-world use case.
Modernization and Consistency: The UI needed a refresh to look more modern and provide a consistent, functional experience across all platforms.

Our Solution: A Holistic, Research-Driven Redesign
We approached this challenge with a deep dive into the needs of every user, ensuring our design decisions were grounded in real-world behavior.
Understanding Every Angle: We conducted nine hours of intensive interviews with key stakeholders—buyers, sellers, and internal employees—to map out pain points and opportunities from every perspective.
Building a Strategic Foundation: Our research led to the creation of detailed personas, experience maps, and a comprehensive UX audit. This formed the strategic blueprint for the entire redesign.
Designing for All Sizes: We developed a cohesive and responsive Design System in Figma. This allowed us to create consistent prototypes and experiences that felt native and intuitive, whether on a 100-inch videowall, a desktop, or a smartphone.
Engineering a New Videowall Interface: We specifically addressed the ergonomic issues by designing a new user interface for the videowall that was easy to control, even from a distance or while in motion, making the sales presentation smoother and more effective.
Digital Presence: To complete the transformation, we designed and implemented Smartpixel's new marketing website using Webflow, ensuring their digital storefront reflected the quality and innovation of their product.
